Q:
how does this extractor hold up on steel ammo such as tulammo and wolf steel case i blown out 3 already from radical firearms, ar stoner and prime arms?
Asked by:
julian alaniz
- 1/26/2022
A:
We put up a disclaimer tab on our products page regarding what will cause premature failure in extractors. We don't recommend Tula or Red Army, all other steel case ammunition run fine. To read more about our disclaimer, please click on the disclaimer tab above.

Would this extractor work with the bolt in a Palmetto KS-47? Is this extractor a good option for steel cased ammunition?

Q:
Hello ,will this 7.62 extractor function in the KS47 Gen2 upper. Thanks for your Assistance
Asked by:
Kencade industries
- 10/23/2021
A:
It will, but we make no warranty. The PSA KS47 is overgassed and why it has issues with premature extractor failures as well as using Tula and Red Army. We highly suggest sticking with Wolf, Silver or Brown Bear.

Q:
I have a couple 7.72 bolts which came with an older Colt rifle I have. Looking to replace the existing extractor with one of these to minimize any extractor breakage. Question...will it fit the Colt bolt. The walls of the bolt face are thinner on the two bolts I have for the 7.62x39 rifle...is this what you are saying needs to be .125 dimension? Thanks, John
Asked by:
John Talucci
- 7/29/2021
A:
If the Colt bolt is per mil-spec then you should be able to utilize the extractor with no issues.

Q:
I have both a BCA 7.62x39 AR style pistol and a AR Stoner 7.62x39 AR style rifle. I would like to order a couple extra extractors for each. However your disclaimers specifically exclude BCA 7.62x39 bolt assemblies. Why is that? What is the difference that makes them incompatible? I suspect that he AR Stoner 7.62x39 upper "might" be a rebranded BCA upper as well.
Asked by:
Brandt Schermann
- 6/29/2021
A:
We don't like to call out other manufactures and what we discovered. For a further detailed explanation you can call us and we would be happy to discuss what we found when another customer sent his BCA bolt assembly to us for inspection and why the incompatibility issue. Many customers had his same experience that they couldn't pair their bca bolt assembly to any other manufacturers extractors.

PLEASE NOTE: Tula Ammunition and Golden Tiger have issues where some primers are set too far in and will still cause light strikes even with an Enhanced Firing Pin
For this reason, we highly suggest sticking to steel cause ammunition such as Wolff or Silver Bear
If you continue to have light primer strikes with Enhanced Firing first check your hammer spring to ensure it is installed properly.
We make no guarantees or warranty using our extractors with AR47 proprietary bolt assemblies, even though they may work the AR-15 7.62x39 extractors were designed around the AR-15 and not around AR47 style rifles that take AK magazines.
THE 2 MOST COMMON THINGS THAT CONTRIBUTE TO PREMATURE EXTRACTOR FAILURES:
Tula Ammunition and Red Army are extremely hard on 7.62x39 bolt assemblies and extractors. We have tested these particular brands on many occasions and have found that cartridges tend to get stuck and/or casings do not shrink properly which causes undue stress on the extractors and the bolt lug next to the extractor. This will contribute to premature failures of these parts.
Overgassing! Overgassing is another issue we see most common in premature bolt assemblies and extractor failures. We recommend shooting through a chronograph to get proper cyclic rates. If you are overgassed then to slow down the bolt carrier you can use a heavier buffer such as an H2 to get proper cyclic rates which allows for the casing to shrink further before extraction takes place thus reducing the stress of the bolt assembly and/or extractor.
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND WOLF AMMUNITION FOR THIS CALIBER
